Unemployment insurance funds in Denmark

To be entitled to Danish unemployment benefits, you need to be a member of a state authorized unemployment insurance fund

In Denmark, unemployment insurance is a voluntary scheme administered by 22 separate insurance funds. The fact that you work here does not automatically insure you in case of unemployment.

The purpose of the unemployment insurance funds is to provide financial support if members become unemployed. They will also help in the job search process.

Learn more about the general conditions for membership and the current benefit rates on the official Life in Denmark guide: lifeindenmark.borger.dk.

If you are looking for specific guidance on the possibilities of joining an unemployment fund or receiving benefits in Denmark, you should contact a relevant fund. Find more information and learn about membership profiles, etc.
